  Another Kearns Branch located

Well, I know it's been AGES since I've updated this, and a lot is going on right now that I can't go into.
BUT!!!

Anyone who is still checking it out, please help welcome our latest member of the Kearns family to get in touch.

Greetings to Ian, who contacted me 4/1/09 (If it's a April Fool's Joke, It's a good one! :) )

-Ok, I'm outsky, couple appointments today and hopefully I'll have time soon enough to post a story to try to catch everyone up to speed.

Current and Future Kearns Expeditions Catching Up Before Summer

Well let's see, where are we... Rhiannon recently won the Mia Steiner Performance award for her performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" (email me if you want the Link to YouTube), Delaney won an Honorable Mention for her story she wrote (she was one of the youngest students to be considered for the Award).

Mom and Pop got back from their most recent trip to the Galapagos Islands, Pops back up at the Lake and getting it ready for the incoming invasion of grandchildren that ensues during the summer months :)

I'm finalizing up the summer tour schedule with  Detour , doing landscaping at home, typical housework stuff, and trying to deal with the inevitable wrist surgery that I will have to undergo this Autumn when the band's schedule starts to wind down.

I'll try to keep more on top of the site as things happen... (yeah I know I've said THAT before! :) )

thanks for your interest everyone!

-Sean

Current and Future Kearns Expeditions Ray and Barbara Riding the Rails in OZ and on "The Silk Road"

In trying to catch up I wanted to post up a few of the trips that Mom and Pop did the past year, I'm not sure if I posted it previously, but one of the trips they took this year was a Railride across Australia. From Sydney to Perth the trip was described as "a whole lot of sitting" by Pop, whilst Mom was typically herself and took every opportunity to hike/walk/climb and take a lot of pictures (nothing new there :) )... I'll try to get them loaded up on the site upon her return of her most recent trip.

After that was the other big Railroad trip... (I get the hint Pop doesn't like driving too much anymore... can't blame him) from Hong Kong to Moscow.
Lots' o pics from that one as well... I took this opportunity to start "mapping" their trips like Rhiannon and I did 5-6 years ago when they were doing the "Round the World" Arunbank trips. So the Big World Map in our hallway now has threads marking the trips as well as the pushpins marking different family homes and trip destinations.

Like I stated previously, once Mom gets back from birdwatching in SouthEast Asia (Pop had NO desire to revisit Vietnam/Cambodia) I'll be certain to get her pics up on the site for everyone's enjoyment.

Happenings around Kelly Corners Trying to catch up from August

OK, so let's see ifn I can get all this into one story....

September brought us to Rhiannon starting 5th grade this year, and due to "Aunt Karen" aka "Mrs. Underwood" teaching 5th grade at MCS, Rhiannon was put into Mr. Cohen's class (oh, I remember THOSE days of "Silent Seatball" and the Songs, and a great time)... She really seems to be enjoying the classes and has a great group of friends. Other than school happenings, she's been keeping up with the skiing program eschewing snowboarding for the "two sticks" mentality (That's my girl!)...

Delaney's 1st year of "Big School" has been going well... reading up a storm, doing a few School plays. concerts, and "Morning programs" (a sort of Kindergarten take on Morning News Shows)...

Ok, more follows, but I don't want to take up too much space on the main page :)
